Seminar: "Freemasonry and Esotericism : between theatricality and mysteries "at ULB (updated)

GREMM continue in 2009-2010 his research project on the assumption of space as a place of Masonic "show", focusing on the theme "Freemasonry and Esotericism: between mystery and theatricality" .
The seminar sessions will be held at CIERL Free University of Brussels (17 Avenue Roosevelt, 1050 Brussels) from February to May 2010, Tuesday from 18 to 20h, as the following program (slightly modified):

09/02: Decharneux Baldwin is a member of the Royal Academy of Belgium, Senior Scientist and Director of the FNRS CIERL. He is the author of several books concerning various aspects of Freemasonry : Initiation (1999) ; Freemasonry (2000) ; From Temple to man (2005). the theme "Myth, mystery and ritual in Freemasonry" be an opportunity for him to clarify some key concepts of the initiatory path that offers the Masonic Order.
His lecture will be followed by a drink of friendship.

23/02: Henrik BOGDAN, a lecturer in the Department of Religious Studies, Theology and Classical Languages at the University Gothenburg (Sweden). Specialist initiation societies, esotericism and the occult, his lecture entitled "The influence of Kabbalah on the development of the rank of Master Mason in Freemasonry" deal of speculation on the modern pronunciation of the Name God - the Tetragrammaton (YHWH) - by AE Waite, in connection with the development of the legend Hiram. 09/03: Luke NEFONTAINE Specialist symbolism and history of Freemasonry, author of numerous books on the subject, it was particularly incumbent course "Theories and History of Masonic symbolism" in CIERL. He will talk about "Hatred and / or reverence? Ambivalence of the image of Rene Guenon in Freemasonry today. "

23/03: Philip LANGLET , author of several books on the symbolic aspects of initiation rites and Masonic, and the founding documents of this company, he recently published a book on Christian Sources of the legend Hiram. He will speak from "Taming of a Conflict: Legend Hiram and Christian Tradition ", about" dramatization "of the legend of Hiram in connection with the rites associated with the cult of relics in the modern era.

27/04: Jean-Marc Vivenza specializes Rectified Scottish Rite and tradition Martinist. 11/05: Bruno PINCHARD is Professor of Philosophy at the University of Lyon III, literary scholar and Renaissance thought. The lecture will "Continuity and discontinuity in Guénon and Leibniz meanings for life initiatory .

18/05: Giuseppe Balzano , CIERL researcher, specializing in Hebrew literature and religious sources of Masonic ritual (especially the ranks of EBITDA written by Eugene Goblet d'Alviella), will deliver a lecture on the topic: "The Masonic initiation: between spirituality and theatricality" .

The Seminar of CIERL Bible Studies (ULB) welcomes Professor François Vouga , who teaches New Testament at the Hochschule Kirchliche Wuppertal / Bethel.
He is the author of A Theology New Testament (2001); Politics of the New Testament: Contemporary Lessons (2008), and Easter or nothing: the resurrection at the heart of the New Testament (2010).
